DO YOU RENT OUT GEAR?

We do!  We have top of the line snowmobile pants, jackets, boots and goggles available for rent.  Helmets are included free of charge and required by New Heights Rentals.

 

HOW LONG IS THE CHECKOUT PROCESS?

If New Heights Rentals is delivering the snowmobiles to the mountain, it is our goal to have you on the mountain within 1 hour after check in.  Our goal is to have your experience be fun and safe and that requires a thorough checkout process.  This timeframe always depends on the size of group and experience level.  If you are picking up the snowmobiles on a trailer,  you should be able to leave our shop within 30 minutes of checking in.

 

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO DRIVE A SNOWMOBILE?

To operate a 600cc snowmobile you must be 16 with a valid drivers license.  To operate an 850cc snowmobile you must be 21 with a valid drivers license and have previous SNOWMOBILE experience.  

 

CAN THE SNOWMOBILE HOLD 2 PEOPLE?

Our 600cc snowmobiles are capable of hold two riders as long as the additional backrest is rented from New Heights.  Our 850cc snowmobiles are not capable of having a passenger.

 

HOW HARD IS IT TO RIDE A SNOWMOBILE?

During the checkout process we will go over Controls, Operation, Technique and Safety.  We will discuss what to do in many different situations.  With the latest technology at your fingertips and our expert instruction, you will find that riding a snowmobile is a great experience.  With that said you should be prepared for a "workout" as the technique involved is necessary for the snowmobile to perform properly.  

 

WHAT IF IT'S SNOWING?

Snowmobiling is best when it's snowing!  Fresh snow is what we dream about when snowmobiling and can make the ride a lot more fun! If there are whiteout conditions and NHR deems it unsafe you ride, you may postpone or reschedule your trip to another day as long as there is availability.  

 

CAN WE GET LOST?

Lost is a bad word...we call it exploration :) 

In all seriousness, our trail system is very easy to navigate.  We will take about 10 minutes during the checkout process to go over our very detailed map with your group.  The trail system is essentially an "out and back" and very easy to follow.  You will also have our phone number so we are only a text/phone call away. TIME TO EXPLORE! 

 

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF I DAMAGED THE SNOWMOBILE?

New Heights utilizes video documentation of the equipment before it leaves.  We will state the name of the renter, date,machine number and often if it is a half or full day rental.  If the machine comes back damaged the video can be used as proof of condition.  It is our goal to be as fair as possible with customers.
